FoMoCo has released the first official sketch of the new Territory SUV, which is set for sales next year in Australia.
“The Ford Territory set a new benchmark when it was first released and it is set to achieve this again – and more,” said Bob Graziano, President and CEO of Ford Australia. ”This is an exceptional SUV. It wears an exciting new look and will boast an extensive list of technical highlights. The Ford Australia team is taking the Territory to an all-new level of performance, refinement and quality, and customers will definitely experience these advancements when they drive it.”
Ford has sold more than 90,000 units of the Territory in Australia since its launch.
In the press release, Ford says that the “eagerly awaited preview signals what will be an unprecedented new-model onslaught Ford has planned for 2011.” This means we can expect to see some of these design cues on the next-generation Ford Escape / Kuga replacement, which is scheduled to debut in concept form at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show next month. Sales of the next-generation Ford Escape and Kuga will start next year.
Earlier this week, Ford announced that it will invest $600 million to transform its Louisville Assembly Plant into a state-of-the-art facility that will produce the Escape and Kuga.
Daar heeft de neus inderdaad wel behoorlijk wat van weg. Er zijn slechtere voorbeelden denkbaar. Sowieso vind ik dit toch wel een flinke vooruitgang ten opzichte van de huidige Kuga, die kan best mooi zijn, maar echt alleen in wit.
Eigenlijk trouwens toch wel typisch dat Ford Australië eigen modellen heeft die zo dicht bij andere modellen uit het Ford-programma zitten.
